ABOUT THE TEAM

The Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting team’s main responsibilities are to perform the monthly accounting of PSP’s operations and to prepare the quarterly and annual financial statements of PSP and its four pension plans, as well as other stand-alone financial statements. The team works collaboratively with other business groups to adhere to the set deadlines.

ABOUT YOUR ROLE

As an Intern, Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting, you’ll assist the team in their daily operations and projects in ways that allow you to experience typical functions of corporate accounting and financial reporting, such as:

  • Preparing journal entries as well as the supporting working files for the month-end and quarter-end close processes
  • Supporting the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and supplemental reports
  • Assisting with ad-hoc requests and/or in the preparation of other reports

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or final year of degree with most accounting courses having been completed
  • Technical requirements: Excel and MS Office
  • Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment with a high level of autonomy
  • Effective communications skills, both written and spoken
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively, cultivating meaningful relationships with colleagues
  • Eagerness to learn
  • Proficiency in English and French (or willingness to learn) (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
  • Must return to studies after the internship or the internship must be part of your curriculum
  • Candidates must have the right to work in Canada* for the period specified to be considered for this position. No support to obtain the right to work will be provided.
    • Options include Canadian citizenship, permanent residency or a valid open work permit.
