About the role
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with advanced expertise in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of accounting experience, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and compliance. This role requires strong analytical skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to lead month-end and year-end closing processes while mentoring junior staff and driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals, ensuring accuracy and integrity in financial data.

Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel to prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

Identify trends, variances, and discrepancies through data analysis, providing actionable insights to management.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Support external audit processes by preparing documentation and collaborating with auditors.

Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities by providing historical data and financial analysis.

Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, fostering their development and ensuring adherence to best practices.

Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement new systems to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in accounting, with a strong focus on general ledger management and financial reporting.

Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.

Solid understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Experience collaborating with external auditors and implementing process improvements is preferred.
