First Student is hiring immediately for a Automotive Service Technician Apprentice for our shop serving Grande Prairie, AB
About the Position
As a Technician with First Student, you will help maintain and repair school buses to ensure vehicle readiness and safety.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist with preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) inspections.
- Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
- Ensure work orders and documentation are completed accurately.
- Assist with mobile emergency services when required.
Qualifications
- Valid Alberta driver's licence (Class 5 required; Class 2 with "S" endorsement an asset).
- Registered apprentice or journeyperson in the Automotive Service Technician or Truck and Transport Mechanic trade.
- Possess a mechanic's tool set.
- Willingness to participate in employer-supported training and Red Seal certification.
