About the role

Western Integrated Electrical builds, installs, maintains, and commissions electrical systems throughout locations across the lower mainland. We complete a variety of electrical installations which can be located at YVR, hospitals, industrial facilities, commercial buildings and in many local municipal facilities. We partner with our clients across the lower mainland to solve their most pressing challenges including design build projects and custom solutions. Distribution and lighting upgrades. Conveyor and machine installations.

We are looking for an Application Engineer / Specialist (Entry Level) to join our team of professionals.

What you will be doing:

The Application Engineer / Specialist (Entry Level) role is designed for recent engineering graduates eager to apply their technical background in a customer-facing capacity. This position bridges engineering expertise and client interaction by supporting the sales process through solution development, proposal preparation, and technical support. You will collaborate with both sales and engineering teams, gaining product and application knowledge while delivering tailored solutions that meet customer needs. This is an excellent career-entry opportunity to build technical, commercial, and communication skills in a supportive environment.

Technical & Solution Development

  • Prepare accurate and timely technical proposals, quotations, and related documentation.

  • Research and verify product specifications, applications, and compatibility to ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements.

  • Support the sales team in explaining product features, applications, and benefits in clear, customer-friendly terms.

  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to clarify technical details, ensure feasibility, and incorporate customer feedback.

  • Apply engineering principles and calculations during solution design.

  • Participate in structured training to develop product, application, and system knowledge in automation, electrical, and control systems.

  • Help identify and evaluate new technologies or enhancements that could benefit customers.

Customer & Sales Process Support

  • Provide first-level technical support and guidance to customers via phone, email, and virtual meetings.

  • Collaborate with sales representatives to ensure smooth handover from initial inquiry to order fulfillment.

  • Coordinate with manufacturing or suppliers as required to meet delivery commitments.

  • Maintain accurate customer records, quotations, and project status updates in CRM and documentation systems.

  • Support marketing and business development initiatives by preparing technical content, product presentations, and sales materials.

  • Assist with order tracking, documentation preparation, and follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction.

What we will give you:

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline preferred (recent graduates encouraged to apply).

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in accessible terms.

  • Interest in developing both technical expertise and commercial skills in a solutions-oriented role.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); CRM familiarity is an asset.

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn about products, applications, and customer needs.
