Role & Responsibilities
Step into a role that’s anything but ordinary. As an Electrical Technologist at EMS-Tech Inc., you’ll join a global engineering team tackling cutting-edge projects in the bulk material handling industry. From CAD drafting and PLC automation to VFD drive configuration and advanced electrical design, you’ll be hands-on with the systems that power massive machines moving resources around the world.

Here are some of the things you’ll be working on:

Work with a vibrant and energic team to fulfil client needs, delivering one of a kind marine and land-based systems around the world.

Integrate various electrical components into the systems. Such as transformers, switchgears, motor control centers, control instrumentation, etc.
-
Work within cross functional teams for commissioning system, upgrades and trouble shooting.
-
Designing custom systems and support the life cycle of the project.
-
Collaborate with clients and team members to deliver custom projects.
Qualifications
-
Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma or equivalent level of combined education and experience
-
3+ years of relevant work experience
-
Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical drafting, or equivalent, with an eye for precision.
-
Experience with PLC Programming (various languages), HMI Programming (various languages), and VFD drive parameter setting, field device programming etc.
-
Ability to verify the accuracy of drawings, ensuring precision in layout and design details is considered an asset.

Strong oral and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with suppliers and design team members
Nice to Have

CET designation with OACETT
-
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for calculations, data tracking and analysis.

Solid understanding of electrical standards like CEC, NEC, IEEE, IEC, ABS, Lloyds, DNV, etc.
