Position:**** Grades 3/4 Teacher
Location: Witset Elementary School
Wage:**** $61,643-$113,466 per annum, (Dependent __on __experience __and ___education,___as __per __KWES __teacher __salary grid)
Hours:**** Monday-Friday __
Kyah Wiget Education Society invites applications for the full-time teaching position at Witset Elementary school located in Witset BC.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher and a member in good standing with the College of Teachers
- Have training and / or experience at the Primary level, and demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional growth
- Provide a child focused approach utilizing current methodology and strategies
- Knowledge of and commitment to current directions in educational practices
- Proven interpersonal skills and willingness to work in a collaborative manner with staff, students, and parents in a small school setting
- Must be highly motivated and be able to work with children in a positive and consistent manner
- Preferably to have experience at implementing DIBELS, Read Well, Reading Mastery, Saxon Math.
- Classroom instruction based on the current curriculum.
- A willingness and ability to adapt and to develop curriculum to address the needs of individual students
- Willingness to integrate appropriate technologies into instructional practices in order to improve learning outcomes
- Willingness to lead extra-curricular activities to the school community
- Knowledge and understanding of local First Nations cultural and issues, as well as learn and implement the First Language of the community
- Attendance at staff meetings, professional development activities and school-based team meetings are integral elements of assignments
