Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists in planning, preparing and carrying out developmentally appropriate programs and activities. Program schedules include indoor/outdoor, active/quiet and individual group activities.

• Ensures activities adhere to the BGC Okanagan Policies and Childcare Licensing Regulations.

• Monitor, guide and assist children in daily activities.

• Attends to children’s physical needs, which may include diapering, toileting, eating and sleeping.

• Model developmentally appropriate activities and positive behaviour management techniques. Conducts activities with children on an individual and group basis to promote the development of physical, cognitive, emotional and social skills.

• Keep program facilities and equipment safe and clean, reporting any repairs and concerns to senior staff.

• Administers first aid and medication in accordance with established policy.

• Ensures a healthy and safe environment in which children can interact. Identifies and removes potential hazards.

• Maintains records, reports problems or concerns to senior staff. Establish positive relationships and open communication with parents/guardians

Qualifications:

• Early Childhood Assistant Certification is required
• Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain

Successful completion of Agency screening process, including a criminal record check

**Hours:**25 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Rate of Pay:$21.22 per hour
