The Role

Salary: $62,454.00 - $78, 067.00 (Commensurate with experience)

Location: Sarnia or Strathroy Administration Office

Job Function:

As a Learning and Development Specialist, you will play a vital role in the support of designing, implementing, and evaluating learning initiatives that contribute to the professional growth and effectiveness of our employees. This position is ideal for a dynamic individual who is passionate about adult learning principles, instructional design, and creating a positive and engaging learning experience.

This position reports to the Director of Organizational Learning & Development and collaborates closely with HR, department leaders, and employees to enhance the overall learning culture within the organization.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Training Program Design:

• Collaborate with department heads and subject matter experts to identify training needs for both soft skills and technical skills.

• Design and develop engaging and effective training programs that align with organizational goals.

Learning Delivery:

• Facilitate training sessions using a variety of delivery methods, including in-person and virtual formats.

• Ensure that training content is delivered in an interactive and participant-centered manner.

Learning Technology Management:

• Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and other technology platforms to deliver and track training programs.

• Stay informed about emerging learning technologies and recommend enhancements.

Evaluation and Assessment:

• Implement assessment tools to measure the effectiveness of training programs.

• Gather feedback from participants and stakeholders to continuously improve learning initiatives.

Professional Development:

• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in learning and development.

• Pursue continuous professional development and share knowledge with the team.

Collaboration:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand organizational needs and align learning initiatives.

• Partner with external training providers when necessary to supplement internal programs.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Adult Education, or 3 - 5 years employment experience working in a related field.

• Proven experience in instructional design, training delivery, and learning and development.

• Advanced knowledge with adult learning principles and instructional design models.

• Strong presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.

• Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms.

• Expert knowledge of training tools such as ADDIE.

• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
