Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Inside Sales Representative to join our team in the HVAC and Plumbing sector. The ideal candidate will support customers, contractors, and distributors by providing quotes, processing orders, recommending solutions, and delivering outstanding customer service. This role requires a strong combination of product knowledge, sales acumen, and communication skills to drive revenue growth and ensure customer satisfaction.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage inbound sales inquiries via phone, email, and CRM system.
- Provide accurate and timely quotes, proposals, and pricing to customers and contractors.
- Process purchase orders and coordinate with operations to ensure timely delivery.
- Develop strong customer relationships by acting as a trusted advisor for HVAC and plumbing solutions.
- Cross-sell and upsell complementary products (e.g., filters, fittings, accessories).
- Assist customers in product selection by interpreting specifications, drawings, and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with outside sales representatives and manufacturers to close deals.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline opportunities, and customer interactions in the CRM.
- Stay informed on new products, industry regulations, and seasonal market trends.
- Proven experience in inside sales, customer service, or technical support (preferably in HVAC, plumbing, or building materials).
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn HVAC and plumbing product lines quickly.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a customer-first mindset.
- Proficiency in CRM and ERP systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, Epicor, Infor, or similar).
- Ability to read and understand technical documents, spec sheets, and product catalogs.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Prior experience supporting contractors, distributors, or facility managers.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems (split units, VRF, chillers, boilers) and plumbing systems (piping, pumps, fixtures).
- Familiarity with quoting software and supply chain/logistics processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3 or more years experience in sales or business to business selling role.
- 3 or more years’ experience with HVAC.
- Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Proficient in using office technology, including computers, photocopiers, scanners, phone systems, and virtual meeting platforms, as required for daily responsibilities. Aptitude for mathematical operations and numerical analysis.
Physical Demands & Work Environment This full-time position requires approximately 40 hours per week and including regular physical and sensory activity, including:
- Bending, lifting, and carrying materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged sitting (up to 8 hours), with intermittent standing and walking throughout the shift
- Continuous use of fingers, hands, and arms for computer and office-related tasks
- Frequent use of office equipment such as computers, phones, and scanners (up to 8 hours daily)
- Regular verbal communication via phone and in-person interactions (up to 6 hours daily
