About You / What We Are Looking For

We are seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Worker. This role is responsible for overseeing and performing complex tasks related to the maintenance, repair and inspections of water systems and infrastructure. As a Senior Maintenance Worker, you will lead a team of maintenance workers and ensure the delivery of efficient, safe, and reliable services to the community.

Main Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor and test the performance of water, storm and sanitary systems and storage facilities; diagnose and assesse mechanical problems and determines appropriate corrective action
  • Supervise, Install, Maintain and repair pipes and fittings, fire hydrants, pumps, level controls, cathodic protectors, line valves, pressure reducing valves and other related equipment
  • Supervise maintenance workers engaged in maintenance and service work and provide training when necessary
  • Responds to trouble calls and emergencies, determines appropriate corrective action and provides related information to contractors and members of the public

Qualifications

  • Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia – Class 3 with Air Brake Endorsement
  • EOCP Water Distribution certification Level 2

In addition to the above, we are looking for the candidates with the following skills:

What We Offer:

This CUPE position has an hourly rate of $44.98. The City offers an attractive vacation and extended benefits package, including the ability to contribute to the Municipal Pension Plan. Additionally, there is an opportunity to participate in an earned day off day program.
