Job Type: Full-time

Position Overview We are seeking a results-driven, hands-on Sheep Production Manager to lead and optimize all aspects of our sheep operation. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on maximizing productivity, implementing modern farming techniques, and driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production & Efficiency Management

  • Oversee all stages of the sheep cycle, from breeding to market.

  • Refine management protocols to maximize lambing rates, growth, and flock output.

  • Analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions.

  • Forage & Pasture Optimization

  • Develop strategic grazing plans and pasture rotations for optimal nutrition and resource use.

  • Oversee hay and forage production to ensure high quality.

  • Equipment Operation & Maintenance

  • Operate and maintain farm equipment (tractors, balers, feeding systems).

  • Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs to minimize downtime.

  • Team Leadership

  • Supervise, train, and motivate farm staff.

  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Record Keeping & Analysis

  • Maintain accurate records for breeding, growth rates, feed usage, and production metrics.

  • Use data to guide performance analysis and long-term planning.

  • Financial Oversight

  • Assist with budgeting, inventory control, and strategic purchasing decisions to improve profitability.

Qualifications -

  • Proven experience in commercial farming with a focus on production efficiency.
  • Strong track record of meeting or exceeding production targets.
  • Skilled in farm equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.
