YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Coordinator, Environment, you will be part of the Environment Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Identify non-compliances and execute continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Carryout tasks required to maintain compliance with environmental regulations, including compliance inspections, compliance sampling (water/air/soil), environmental monitoring and worker education;
  • Liaise with external laboratories to ensure the timely receipt of samples;
  • Maintain and calibrate environmental monitoring equipment;
  • Compile, analyze and maintain environmental monitoring data in EQuIS for regulatory reporting requirements;
  • Collect field data in remote locations in diverse environmental conditions;
  • Complete wildlife surveys, monitoring and management as required
  • Respond to environmental incidents and perform field follow ups after incidents;
  • Actively participate in Health and Safety initiatives on site such as Safety Meetings, Toolbox Meetings, Risk Assessments, etc. ;
  • Ensure all field equipment is safe and in working order (boat, motor, snowmobile).

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor's Degree or Technical Diploma in an environmental discipline, or equivalent qualifications and experience;
  • 2-5 years of field experience, preferably in mining operations;
  • Experience handling Snowmobile, ATVs and Boats;
  • Possess a Valid Driver’s License, Firearm Possession and Acquisition License (PAL), and Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC);
  • Experience in collecting environmental compliance data (water, air and soil quality);
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.

Your Work Schedule:

  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
