Role Summary: The Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing high-quality service. The ideal candidate is skilled in automotive systems, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnostics and Repairs: Perform detailed diagnostics to identify mechanical, electrical, and technical issues in vehicles. Execute repairs to ensure safety, performance, and compliance with OEM standards.

  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance services, including oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, and system inspections.

  • Technical Expertise: Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technologies and use specialized diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve vehicle problems.

  • OEM Compliance: Adhere to all manufacturer guidelines and service protocols to maintain warranty integrity and ensure repairs meet high-quality standards.

  • Customer Communication: Collaborate with service advisors to explain findings and recommend necessary repairs or services to customers in an easy-to-understand manner.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including diagnostics, repairs, and parts used.

  • Shop Safety: Follow all safety protocols, maintain a clean workspace, and ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.

  • Training and Mentorship: Share knowledge and provide guidance to apprentices and junior technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with service advisors, parts staff, and other technicians to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of jobs.

  • Test Driving: Test drive vehicles as necessary to confirm repairs and assess overall performance.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Red Seal Certification in Automotive Service.

  • Extensive experience diagnosing and repairing a variety of vehicle makes and models.

  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair equipment.

  • Strong understanding of automotive systems, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication skills to explain technical issues to customers and team members.

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
