About the Role
Queen Margaret’s School is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Equestrian Coach to join our team. This role supports the delivery of lessons and the daily care and movement of horses at the Shirley Burr Equestrian Centre. The successful candidate will contribute to student programming, assist with the Equestrian Canada Rider Level Program, and provide safe and engaging instruction for beginner to intermediate riders.
This position offers flexibility, with hours dependent on student and program needs, to a maximum of 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Deliver lessons for beginner to intermediate riders.
- Assist with equestrian clinics, workshops, and competitions.
- Support the preparation and organization of the Equestrian Canada Rider Level Program.
- Provide feedback on student progress and horse care.
- Ensure safety practices are followed for riders, staff, and horses.
- Assist with horse care, tack maintenance, and facility upkeep.
Qualifications
- Minimum Equine Canada Level 1 Coaching Certification (Instructor of Beginners, Competition Coach, or equivalent).
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
- Valid BC Driver’s License.
- Strong communication and mentorship skills.
Preferred Assets:
- Level 1 First Aid Certification.
- Equine Science Certificate or equivalent.
- Class 4 Driver’s License.
- Heavy Trailer Endorsement (Code 20).
