Senior Games Engineer - Games Engineering Team - Core Location : Hybrid in Edmonton, Alberta (Remote possible for exceptional candidates).

As a Senior Games Engineer at Artificial.Agency, you will play a key role in shaping the future of game development. You will work closely with our games engineering team to create our games SDK technology and tools across multiple game engines. These SDKs allow game developers to create characters, coaches, and game directors that would be impossible with conventional game AI and push the boundaries of what games can be.

About The Games Engineering The Games Engineering team are the internal experts of game development technology. Their mission: to develop the SDKs and tools that allow game developers to deploy agentic intelligence into all manner of video games. This team creates innovative, intuitive, and fun-to-use tools and systems that allow entire new genres of games to be made.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute as a generalist engineer, building systems across gameplay and tools.
  • Engage directly with internal design and technology teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Lead technical design discussions, author design documentation, and guide implementation strategies.
  • Provide mentorship, conduct code reviews, and support the growth of junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Integrate and explore AI-driven workflows, LLMs, and agents within game development pipelines.
  • Collaborate with platform, product, and design teams to experiment with solutions, validate requirements, and highlight improvements that strengthen our product foundation.

Skills

  • 5+ years professional experience in AAA/AA game development with multiple shipped titles
  • Strong proficiency in C++ and Unreal Engine; experience with additional game engines is a plus (Unity).
  • Proven track record as a generalist engineer with contributions across multiple areas of development.
  • Experience leading engineering teams, defining technical direction, and driving delivery.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with design and non-technical stakeholders.
