About the role
Description:
As a member of a dynamic development team, the Senior FPGA will be responsible for FPGA and PLD design for carrier-grade Optical Transport, Optical Line Terminals (OLTs).
What You’ll Do
- Create digital circuits and systems using FPGA technology, including coding in VHDL/Verilog, simulation, synthesis and debugging
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to integrate FPGA solutions into the circuit packs
- Ensure design meets performance, power, and area requirements through simulation and hardware testing
- Identify and resolve design issues during development and testing.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of design processes and modifications
Requirements:
- Degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering or equivalent, coupled with 5+ years' experience in FPGA design
- Strong understanding of digital design principles, FPGA architectures and HDLs (Verilog, VHDL)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to foster collaboration with the design team
- Ability to identify and resolve complex design issues
- Ability to optimize FPGA designs for thermal and performance
- Basic understanding of Mechanical design principles relevant to FPGA design
- Ability to adapt to evolving project requirements
- Ability to keep up to date with the latest FPGA technologies and to guide device selection
- Appreciation for how FPGAs interface with Hardware and Software
Assets You May Possess
- Experience with hardware design of high-speed circuits
- Advanced electronics knowledge
- Scripting experience (Python)
