About the role
The Division of Geriatric Medicine consists of a team of 11 Geriatricians and
5 Care of the Elderly physicians working across Vancouver Island serving a
population of 750,000. In Victoria, the Patient Care Centre is a state-of-
the-art facility with an elder-friendly design to meet unique needs of
seniors.
The Geriatric service provides clinical support to a robust service including
in-patient and out-patient consultation. There is rotation through all
aspects of specialized geriatric services and physicians work with dedicated
interdisciplinary teams in most areas. There are no “on call” duties with
attractive remuneration under a clinical service contract. The Division of
Geriatrics is affiliated with the University of British Columbia Island
Medical Program, and supports clinical teaching of undergraduate and
postgraduate learners.
