THE ROLE This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional professional to join a team of high performing professionals and make a significant impact.
Reporting to the Director, Pension Operations, the Manager, Member Data will oversee the management and maintenance of member data, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and security. This role will play a crucial part in supporting member services, reporting, and compliance initiatives.
The ideal candidate will be adept at managing data systems and driving continuous improvements to data processes that enhance member experience and operational efficiency.
This role is based in downtown Toronto under a hybrid work policy, allowing employees the flexibility to work remotely and in-office (approximately two days per week in-office).
Specific Accountabilities
- Oversee the day-to-day management of member data, ensuring all records are accurate, updated, and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement data management strategies and policies to maintain high levels of data integrity and security.
- Lead and manage a team responsible for data entry, validation, and reporting, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support data-related initiatives and resolve data discrepancies.
- Ensure the successful integration of member data into reporting systems and assist with data extraction for analysis and auditing purposes.
- Drive continuous improvement in data management processes and systems, identifying opportunities for automation and enhanced accuracy.
- Monitor and report on key data quality metrics, ensuring compliance with industry and organizational standards.
- Manage relationships with external vendors related to data management systems, ensuring optimal performance and service.
- Ensure data privacy and security policies are adhered to in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Support Pension Services with development of various processes and tools for workflow improvements
Qualifications & Experience The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of defined benefit plans and be accustomed to working in a high energy, hands-on, dynamic organization.
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with strong experience in pension administration.
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or Pension Plan Administration Certificate (PPAC) an asset
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience with defined benefit plan administration required – experience must be hands on across multiple facets of pension operations
- Experience collaborating with client experience teams
- Strong knowledge of the fundamentals of defined benefit plan design
- Demonstrated leadership, training, and mentorship of junior/new team members
- Exceptional client service with strong professional acumen
- Good understanding of member data and intricacies of timeliness and accuracy
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical skills, ability to segment data according to events (retirements, enrollments, etc.)
- Strong Excel skills
- Prior leadership experience is an asset
- Professional, client-focused approach to colleagues and assignments
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to organize, set priorities, work independently and complete multiple projects within established deadlines
- Experience leading teams in a managerial or non-managerial capacity
