About the role

Overview:

As the Special Risk Extension Clerk (SRE Clerk), you will perform moderately complex clerical and administrative work to support the underwriters and the department using established precedents and departmental policy.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect entry work from the Underwriting department and sort policies by type and date into entry cabinets.
  • Enter policy terms prepared by Underwriting into the Specialty Insurance Service (SIS).
  • Process all types of transactions including new business, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, monthly reporting, and year-end adjustments.
  • Match declarations to correct files, assemble documents, prepare for mailing, and separate Transport Safety and Regulations certificates.
  • Assemble the policies, attaching declarations, cover sheets, signed copies, Transport Safety and Regulations certificates and correspondence in the correct areas of the file and in date order.
  • Receive mail and separate SRE from claims mail and deliver to filing and underwriting.
  • Print Broker envelopes, maintain photocopier, record meter readings, call for repairs, and collect and return used toners for recycling.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of office or customer service experience.
