About the role
Thunder Bay Regional Health Research Institute (TBRHRI) is an independent, not-for-profit corporation focused on research that prioritizes the health needs of the people of Northwestern Ontario. Scientists collaborate with clinicians, medical professionals, academic and industry partners to improve health care through innovation in various fields, including Indigenous health, cancer, cardiac disease, stroke, lung disease, social accountability, and learning health systems. TBRHRI also supports clinical trials at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC); and with the discovery and development of new technologies and systems, advances health care through excellence in patient-centred research.
We are currently seeking candidates for the following position:
Clinical Research Services Department Research Assistant, Orthopedic (1 Year Contract)
The individual filling this position will work closely with the Orthopedic Physician Group and the Clinical Research Services Department (CRSD). Their time will be devoted to the support and development of clinical research projects.
The individual will be responsible for supporting and enabling research projects that fall within the scope of the Physicians clinical research platform. Duties will include the identification of potential research projects and funding opportunities, development of proposals, assisting with grant/protocol writing, patient data collection, and research papers/abstracts as directed.
Along with a degree in science or medicine, the ideal candidate will have training and experience in basic research design. Medical knowledge related to the overall health care system is preferred. Must be highly dedicated and organized, with the ability to multi task in a fast-paced, diverse and growing environment. Exceptional organizational and communication skills, along with strong quantitative, analytic and reasoning skills are necessary. This is an onsite position at TBRHSC (980 Oliver Road, Thunder Bay, Ontario). Candidates must be able to work in-person.
