POSITION DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Sr. Analyst, SAP Finance and Controlling
Purpose of Position: Functional Lead, SAP Finance and Controlling
Position Reporting To: IT Director
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time
Position Status: This job posting reflects a current vacancy within the organization. The position is active, approved, and intended to be filled as part of our staffing needs. This posting is for an existing and currently open position.
General Description
The SAP Sr. Analyst, Finance and controlling primarily supports Finance business area including but not limited to AP, AR, Product Costing. This individual works with each business users to review business and development requirements and define efficient and effective approaches to meet the business need. They provide day-to-day functional and technical support, on-going system improvements, and strategic technical system direction.
Responsibilities
Key Technical:
- Oversee design, configuration support, and testing in various SAP modules and functions: Finance, Cost Controlling, Accounts Payable, Product Costing, Materials Management (Contracts, Purchasing, EDI, and interfaces).
- Develop strong partnerships with the Finance departments to understand the strategic direction, business processes and business needs of the business areas and recommend processes and/or functionality in SAP that can be used to meet the requirements.
- Work closely with functional areas including Finance, Materials Management, to develop integrative, end to end solutions.
- Prepare detailed design documents, functional specifications for development activities including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms. Follow all internal standards and change control procedures in performing required work.
- Perform testing activities (unit, conference room pilots, integration, and user acceptance testing), including test plan creation and data and test execution (in conjunction with the other functional team leads). Promote transports to quality assurance and production.
- Proactively participate in the integration between related SAP functions from an application perspective with other Business System Analysts.
- Ensure projects are completed accurately, on time, and follow the appropriate compliance guidelines such as Sarbanes Oxley and FDA 21 CFR Part 11.
- Maintain IT/SAP Technical Landscape
Technical Landscape Architecture:
- Technically analyze and implement the complex features and integration of various SAP Modules.
- Input to the definition of the solution road map, integrating multiple disparate processes, and addressing short- and long-term organizational needs.
- Create and maintain detailed functional solutions and architecture documentation.
Release Management:
- Adhere to SAP change management processes and controls, and in alignment with the Bora change control processes.
- Participate and/or lead the process for periodic validated status review for the SAP landscape, and in alignment with Bora standard processes.
Support IT (Information Technology) related Programs and Projects:
- Work closely with functional and business teams to support SAP solutions and business requirements.
- Research complex application/system integration issues with functional teams; examine integration between various systems (SAP and non-SAP) for inconsistencies.
- Provide operational and project support keeping focus on meeting project milestones.
- Ensures that changes to SAP are delivered in line with business standards and do not cause any detrimental impact to systems.
Qualifications
Experience and Technical Skills:
- 8+ years extensive configuration experience in FI&CO modules required in SAP ECC 6.x
- S/4 HANA experience is good to have.
- Experience working with 3rd party solutions specific to the area of expertise.
- Extensive configuration and system design experience in primary module of responsibility (FI&CO) required) and MM is nice to have.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
- Strong functional knowledge of cross functional business processes including production planning, execution, and quality management a must.
- Knowledge of entire SAP landscape for supported processes.
- Experience in multiple SAP implementations preferred (at least three successful, full life cycle implementations required (preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment).
- Basic understanding of ABAP programming with debugging skills. Must have very good knowledge of working with user exits.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Experience within a manufacturing environment regulated by the FDA.
- Experience with computer systems’ validation.
- Good to Have: SAP certification.
Education
Required:
- University degree in engineering, computer science or related technical field.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science (MSc) or related field.
Soft Skills:
- Strong critical and analytical thinking skills.
- Ability to influence with/out authority.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Working Conditions: Hybrid - Standard Office and Remote
Compensation Range:
$81,240 - $101,550
Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and internal equity.
