About the Role
A leading AI research initiative is seeking experienced Software Engineers to collaborate on a frontier project developing robust, high-performance systems for next-generation machine learning applications.
In this part-time, remote role, you’ll leverage coding agents (e.g., Codex, Claude Code, or similar) to complete realistic engineering tasks on production-grade codebases. You’ll contribute to evaluating, improving, and scaling intelligent code-generation systems designed to transform the software development process.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex, real-world coding tasks using AI coding agents .
- Build, debug, and refactor production-level code across Rust, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python .
- Review and validate AI-generated code for accuracy, performance, and maintainability.
- Contribute to benchmarking efforts that measure the capabilities of AI-driven programming tools.
- Work asynchronously with researchers and engineers to improve agentic coding workflows.
Ideal Qualifications
- Fluency in at least one of: Rust, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
- Proven experience using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Codex, Claude Code, or similar).
- Demonstrated experience with open-source contributions or large-scale personal projects (preferably public on GitHub).
- Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering from a top institution in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent debugging skills, and a rigorous approach to problem-solving.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication.
- Must be currently based in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand.
Role Highlights
- Workload: Part-time, 10–20 hours per week (option to extend up to 40 hours).
- Schedule: Fully remote and asynchronous — work on your own time.
- Duration: Minimum 2 weeks, with potential for extension based on performance.
