We are seeking an experienced heavy civil construction Superintendent to oversee field operations on active projects in BC. Team & Culture
The Superintendent works closely with the Project Manager to manage daily site operations. This role requires a solid background in heavy civil construction, strong communication skills, and the ability to motivate crews while following project direction. Proven experience coordinating and delegating to field teams is essential, with industry knowledge supporting successful project execution and on-time deliverables.
Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate heavy civil construction activities from mobilization through completion

Direct daily site activities and make informed field decisions

Develop, maintain, and manage project schedules
-
Engage, motivate, and effectively delegate work to field crews
-
Actively participate in coordination meetings with project stakeholders and management
-
Demonstrate strong proficiency with site documentation and regulatory compliance requirements
-
Operate a wide range of earthmoving equipment
-
Anticipate and mitigate risks related to safety, environmental, and project performance
-
Resolve challenges efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
-
Ensure all site activities comply with Provincial safety and environmental regulations
Required Qualifications & Skills

Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction, preferably in a superintendent or senior field leadership role

Willing and able to work shift schedules and travel to, or reside at, remote job sites
-
Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
-
Ability to communicate and collaborate professionally with supervisors, crews, and project stakeholders
-
Strong leadership and crew coordination skills in active construction environments
-
Solid understanding of heavy equipment operations, sequencing, and site logistics
-
Working knowledge of Provincial safety, environmental, and quality control regulations and requirements
-
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and schedules
-
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in the field
