OurProcurement Specialist, Contractsplays a critical role in shaping how Tolko partners with suppliers and manages risk across the business. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing big-picture thinking with detailed contract work.

We’re looking for aProcurement Specialist, Contracts, to join our head office located in**Vernon,****British Columbia.**Our head office houses Tolko’s corporate services groups including Sales, Marketing & Logistics, Finance, Accounting & Credit, IT, Procurement and Human Resources.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

-**Minimum 5 years’experience in a senior procurement position. -SCMP Designationthrough SCMA andProject Management Professional Certification (PMP)**or relevant experience preferred.

  • Aself-starterwith astrategic approachto procurement, who drives change and innovation byworking collaboratively****and creativelywith others across the company.

  • Demonstrated ability toanalyze complex issuesand apply goodbusiness acumento make decisions and provide advice.

  • Ability tocommunicate effectivelywith team members and executive leaders.

  • Drive to learn the business, understand andproactively contributeto business objectives.

  • Stronglegal contract and analytical skillswith the ability tocommunicate complex issuesin a clear and concise manner.

  • Ability to meet deadlines andmanage competing demands.

  • Capacity to manage sensitive and confidential information withintegrityanddiscretion.

In this role, you will:

-Draft, review and negotiategeneral supplier agreements/contracts and service provider terms and conditions for the company, its operating business units, IT, and capital projects. -Provide adviceto the procurement and capital teams across the company on vendor transactions.

  • Provide guidance and expertise as part ofcompetitive bid and procurement processesfor capital projects, as well assupplier negotiations, analysis, andonboardingprocesses.
  • Assist the procurement department inmanaging vendor contractsto ensure the company is abiding by agreements, preventing maverick spend, and leveraging maximum benefits from the negotiated agreements.
  • Manage thedispute resolutionandclaims processwith suppliers.
  • Assist with thelitigation processto reduce reliance on external legal providers and provide recommendations to mitigate future risks of litigation.
  • Advise on and assist indeveloping, implementing, and updating the Company’s Procurement Policy and Proceduresand Procurement Contracts Standards. -Bring your ideas, changes and improvementsto Contract Management in order to:
    • Implement and maintaineffective contract management processesto ensure compliance and mitigate risks associated with contract lifecycle management.
    • Develop and maintain acentralized repositoryfor contracts and related documentation.
    • Assist in developing thestrategic use of contract management/trackingand the procurement function related to these contracts and agreements.
