The Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Intermediate Full Stack Developer to join our growing technical team. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in designing, developing, and maintaining full stack web applications for high-impact government modernization initiatives. You’ll work closely with clients, product owners, and other developers to deliver robust, scalable and secure solutions.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Develop and scale software applications using modern full stack technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS, VueJS, React, AngularJS, HTML, CSS and PostgreSQL.
- Prototype and implement new features to address evolving project needs.
- Support onboarding of new user groups and contribute development work as directed by leadership.
- Ensure seamless integration between applications and cloud environments by leveraging APIs for efficient data sharing.
- Help scale solutions for additional fleets as requested by project leadership.
- Liaise with cloud teams to migrate MVPs to production, meeting all security compliance requirements.
- Streamline business processes and manage user feedback systems using project management tools. Continuously monitor and improve DevOps pipelines, including CI/CD and testing.
- Advise on feature prioritization and evaluation of new application ideas, including research and reporting on emerging technologies.
What You Bring to the Table:
- 5+ years in the following:
- Proficient in two programming languages, including Python, C# or Java.
- Experienced in cloud infrastructures and runtime environments, as well as source code management systems such as Git.
- Experience with networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, UDP, TLS, HTTP, WebSockets, DNS, as well as gateway and firewall configuration.
- Experienced with relational and key-value databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, MS SQL, Cosmos DB and Redis.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Agile software development, including proficiency in CI/CD and modern DevOps methodologies.
- Proficient in VueJS, JavaScript, and Node.js; experience with Angular is considered an asset.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with both technical teams and senior-level clients.
- Currently based in the Ottawa-Gatineau region and possessing, or eligible to obtain, Government of Canada Reliability or Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
