5on2off, Mondays to Fridays, 8 hours per shift

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and maintain engineering standards and procedures for site operations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

  • Collaborate with the project team to assist in the development and review (squad check) of engineering plans, drawings, and specifications for new and ongoing projects.

  • Collaborate with the reliability team to assist reliability assessments for all equipment and systems, identifying potential risks and implementing strategies to improve reliability and performance.

  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to oversee and monitor site activities to ensure compliance with engineering designs, specifications, and safety standards.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to contractors, project managers, and other site personnel during project execution.

  • Conduct site inspections and surveys to verify that construction and maintenance work meets design specifications and quality standards.

  • Coordinate with the project team to resolve technical issues, ensuring that project timelines and quality requirements are met.

  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying any potential delays or issues and implementing corrective actions as needed.

  • Ensure that all engineering activities comply with regulatory requirements and company safety policies.

  • Support the implementation of quality control and quality assurance procedures, including material testing and inspection.

  • Document site activities, prepare technical reports, and maintain accurate records of all engineering work conducted on-site.

  • Collaborate with the maintenance and operations teams to integrate engineering solutions that enhance site efficiency and safety.

  • Participate in project meetings and provide updates on site activities, progress, and technical challenges.

  • Assist in the commissioning and handover of completed projects, ensuring that all documentation and certifications are in place.

Qualifications and Skills

Education

Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Structural Engineering. Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Structural Engineering with EGBC.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in structural design. Preference given to those with experience in structural design of material bulk loading/unloading in a waterfront, mining, heavy industry, or similar operation.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction practices, and industry standards.

  • Proficiency in using engineering software such as AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, or other relevant tools for design and project management.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to address technical challenges in a timely manner.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with contractors, project teams, and other stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
