TheShift Supervisoris responsible for leading on-shift Data Center Operations, providing direct supervision to Cloud Support Coordinators, Data Center Technicians and providing shift leadership for on site supporting departments. This role ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical infrastructure while maintaining service availability, meeting SLAs, and responding effectively to incidents in a 24/7 mission-critical environment.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Shift Supervisor plays a key role in operational execution, incident response, team leadership, and shift-to-shift continuity. This position works on a rotating shift schedule.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in data centers or Information Technology or related journeyman trade is an asset
  • 3–5 years of experience in data center operations is an asset
  • Previous supervisory or team-lead experience, preferably in a 24/7 operational environment
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, with comfort reporting, and email communication
  • Strong understanding of incident management, change control, and operational procedures
  • Proven commitment to safety, security, and compliance in a mission-critical environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and professionally during routine operations and high-pressure incidents
  • Comfortable working in a small, collaborative shift team
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays as required

This role requires availability for a rotational shift schedule including day, night, and weekend coverage. Candidates must be comfortable working overnight****and maintaining productivity during off-peak hours. A shift premium may apply.

Operational Leadership

  • Supervise day-to-day data center operations to ensure uptime, safety, and compliance with operational standards
  • Coordinate, assign, and prioritize work activities for Cloud Support Coordinators, Data Center Technicians, along with electrical, mechanical and HVAC employees during the shift
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintenance plans, safety protocols and change management processes
  • Conduct effective shift handovers, ensuring accurate communication of operational status, risks, and outstanding work

People Leadership

  • Provide hands-on leadership, direction, and support to on-shift staff
  • Coach and mentor team members to build technical capability, operational discipline, and professional growth
  • Promote clear, respectful, and timely communication within the shift and across teams
  • Foster a strong culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and operational excellence
  • Support onboarding, training, and competency development for new and existing staff

Safety, Security & Compliance

  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety procedures, security requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Enforce use of job hazard analyses (JHAs), permits to work, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO), and other risk mitigation controls
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, equipment care, and secure access within the data center
  • Support audits, inspections, and compliance activities as required

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to reliability, efficiency, safety, and team performance

  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to procedures, tools, and workflows

  • Support implementation of new technologies, systems, and operational programs
