About the Role

The Director, Network Communications will shape and strengthen WildBrain Network's external communications strategy, positioning the business as a trusted authority in kids' and family media, digital content, audience engagement, and platform innovation.

Reporting to the VP, Marketing and Communications, this role will own and drive Network’s B2B communications strategy and roadmap, including media relations, executive visibility, thought leadership, and industry narrative development to enhance WildBrain's reputation and influence. The role will elevate WildBrain Network’s industry authority and category leadership among key audiences as defined by the business strategy (advertisers, creative agencies, media planners, to name a few) plus trade media. The successful candidate will translate complex business priorities into compelling stories that build trust, credibility, and long-term brand value.

Job Description

Develop and execute WildBrain Network's communications strategy across the media, advertising, entertainment, and investment communities. Partner with senior leaders to define and evolve compelling positioning, messaging, and narratives that reinforce WildBrain Network’s leadership in kids' and family entertainment and digital media. Create insight-led content, executive perspectives, industry POVs, and thought leadership initiatives that shape industry conversations. Translate business strategies, market trends, and innovation into clear, engaging external communications. Media Relations & Industry Visibility

Build and manage relationships with key trade, business, and industry media. Secure high-impact earned media opportunities that elevate WildBrain Network’s profile and credibility. Identify and land strategic speaking opportunities, industry panels, conferences, and events through the development of compelling brand narratives Lead proactive and reactive communications efforts that strengthen trust and enhance reputation. Corporate & Brand Messaging Alignment

Collaborate closely with Content, Franchise, Licensing and Corporate Communications, and executive stakeholders to ensure a consistent external narrative. Align industry-facing Network communications with broader corporate messaging and strategic priorities. Maintain consistency across all external touchpoints, channels, and audiences related to WildBrain Network. Executive Communications & Reputation Management

Support senior leaders with messaging development, presentation preparation, media readiness, and narrative guidance. Monitor and strengthen industry, advertiser, and partner perceptions of WildBrain Network. Help protect and advance WildBrain's reputation during periods of increased visibility and change. Provide communications counsel and strategic recommendations to leadership teams.

Qualifications

Strong track record of corporate communications, public relations, industry relations, or external communications. Knowledge of the kids entertainment landscape would be an asset Proven success developing thought leadership programs and securing earned media coverage. Strong network of media, industry, and influencer relationships within entertainment, media, advertising, or technology sectors. Exceptional storytelling, writing, and executive communications skills. Ability to translate complex business strategies into compelling external narratives. Experience supporting senior executives and advising leadership teams. Strong project management, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.

Total Rewards

At WildBrain, we strive for equitable and consistent pay practices within a robust total rewards framework. Compensation may vary within the same role based on experience, performance, specialized expertise, and overall impact.

Compensation: $125,000 - $145,000 CAD (with bonus eligibility). Base salary is part of a comprehensive total rewards package that includes:
