Intern, I&T Business Analyst (Service Desk)

This is a full-time summer internship lasting from May 11, 2026, until August 28, 2026.

Job Summary

The Business Service Desk provides first-tier support to end-users for applications that are business critical at CN. Different intake channels involve mostly phone calls, emails, and incidents tickets. The support model for each application varies according to the business needs and involves a combination of technical, how-to, incident management, and business process. The Business Service Desk resolves approximately 75% to 80% of the issues at the first point of contact and escalates the other calls to next level support teams. The Intern, Business Analyst - Service Desk participates mostly on the lines of business for Track Engineering and Field Mobility applications.

Main Responsibilities

  • Receive client requests via phone and electronically
  • Provide application support for critical systems used by different lines of business including Transportation,
  • Engineering, Intermodal, Finance, and Human Resources
  • Handle Track Engineering and Field Mobility calls
  • Act as first point of contact to resolve issues
  • Assist in creating and updating knowledge management articles

Requirements

  • Experience in Customer Service*
  • Fluently bilingual both written and verbal (English, French)
  • Able to work shifts and weekends when necessary
  • Knowledge of mobility platforms such as WorkSpace 1*

Education

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s or Diploma Degree in IT

  • Any experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset
