Your Next Challenge Reporting to the Superintendent, Operational Excellence – Ontario Region, you will be part of the Operational Excellence Department. You will support the implementation of strategic initiatives and facilitate the collaborative working relationships of cross-functional teams and senior leadership, development and implementation of compliance programs for all our Ontario operations. Geared to reduce and minimize operational and maintenance impacts in a cost-effective manner. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Responsible for the identification, implementation and support of Operational Excellence initiatives for the purpose of supporting the Ontario Regional operational and maintenance groups
- Lead the regional improvement project tracking program
- Structure and coordinate regional efforts for collecting, analyzing, benchmarking and prioritizing improvement opportunities for the Ontario Region sites
- Provide technical, managerial and development support to the Operation and Maintenance teams and act as a coach and mentor
- Oversight and monitoring the Ontario sites to ensure alignment of the site’s operational and maintenance with regional initiatives
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with cross-functional teams and senior leadership
- Support with industry and internal research to actively identify improvement opportunities and measure strategic initiatives to support the Ontario operational and maintenance areas
- Drive key improvement initiatives and create value regionally and at site specific levels as required
- Implement cost control culture and productivity and reliability improvements to be able to increase cashflow
- Develop communication channels with and between departments, liaise and discuss results with involved departments and stakeholders to drive a continuous culture
- Other related duties as assigned
What You Need To Succeed
- Engineering Degree, Trade Certificate or equivalent
- Five or more years’ experience in operational and/or maintenance mining sector (preferably gold)
- Three or more years’ experience in continuous improvement, business improvement, or project management roles
- Proven problem-solving and learning capacity, with a creative approach to various situations and issues
- Experience with change management
- Proficiency with costing and budgeting
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday at our Timmins Regional Office. Occasional visits to site may also be required.
