About the role

Imagine Leadership places experienced learning and training professionals into meaningful public-sector work. We're hiring a Trainer to lead enterprise software (ERP) training for a public-sector client. It's a hands-on role for someone who can own training end to end (strategy, build, delivery, and keeping it current) and who's comfortable working with business leaders, subject-matter experts, and a change network to get people ready for a large system rollout. You'd be hired by Imagine Leadership on a fixed-term basis and placed on assignment with a public-sector client to support their programs. You'd work on-site with the client's team.

What you'll do

  • Lead organization-wide training by defining role-based training strategies, scope, delivery approach (instructor-led, virtual, blended, and self-paced), and success measures aligned to business outcomes.
  • Own the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of complex, multi-audience learning solutions, making sure materials meet established templates, accessibility considerations, and program standards.
  • Partner with program leadership, business process owners, SMEs, vendors, and the change network to validate learning needs, confirm readiness (content, environments, job aids), and align deployment timing.
  • Establish and enforce training governance - intake and prioritization, review and approval cycles, quality assurance, version control, and maintenance - so content stays accurate and current as processes and releases evolve.
  • Define the evaluation and continuous-improvement approach (attendance, learner feedback, knowledge checks, performance insights), analyze themes, and drive prioritized updates to training and supporting materials.
  • Coach and mentor junior trainers and contributors, supporting consistent delivery, strong learner support, and high-quality training artifacts.
  • Use approved digital, collaboration, and AI tools to improve content development, delivery, stakeholder engagement, and reporting.

Must have

  • You can attest that you have no conflict of interest.
  • University graduation in a related field (such as Adult Education, Instructional Design, Business Administration or related) with 4 years progressively related experience.
  • 3+ years developing communication materials.
  • 3+ years leading curriculum design projects from inception to completion.
  • 3+ years with ERP systems training (for example, Finance, HCM/Payroll, or Supply Chain Management).

Nice to have

  • 3+ years collaborating on cross-functional teams to meet critical, time-sensitive deadlines.
  • 3+ years with training evaluation methods, including formative and summative evaluation.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated knowledge of training needs analysis and competency development frameworks.
  • 3+ years developing computer-based training videos using Adobe Captivate or Articulate Storyline.
  • 3+ years developing and implementing effective training plans.
  • 3+ years developing multimedia and graphical learning content to support training materials.
  • 2+ years using AI productivity tools (for example, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, or NotebookLM).
  • 2+ years with digital adoption tools (for example, WalkMe) for creating in-application guidance.
  • 3+ years of working knowledge of SAP applications.

Conditions of the role

  • You must be legally entitled to work in Canada, and the work is performed in Canada.
  • This is an on-site role in downtown Edmonton, five days a week, standard business hours (about 8:15 to 4:30, Monday to Friday). The client provides your laptop, system access, and on-site workspace.
  • A current criminal record check is required before you start.
  • Once hired, you'll complete mandatory training, including privacy and security-awareness courses.

Employment details

  • The client assignment is anticipated to run for approximately 12 months, with potential for an extension of up to 6 months, subject to client approval and program needs. Exact start and end dates, and the applicable employment terms, will be set out in the employment agreement.
  • Full-time hours (about 36.25 hours per week, 7.25 hours per day).
  • $35–44 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay. This is an employee (T4) role - Imagine Leadership handles source deductions and employer contributions - not a contractor rate.
  • The role does not include a separate group benefits plan.

What to include with your application

Your résumé, which includes:

  • For each role, your experience in the context of the specific job or project where you gained it - not just a restatement of the requirement - with dates in MMM/YYYY to MMM/YYYY format (for example, Jan/2023 to Mar/2025).
  • Your work eligibility in Canada - Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a valid work permit (include the permit's expiry date).
  • Three references for whom you've done similar work, with the most recent listed first.

How to apply

Apply through the Apply button on this LinkedIn or Indeed listing and attach the items above by 11:59 PM MST on July 17, 2026. Let us know when you'd be available to start. We review applications as they arrive and will be in touch if there's a fit. Imagine Leadership welcomes applicants of all backgrounds and is committed to an inclusive, accessible hiring process. Let us know if you need any accommodation to take part.
