Are you an engineer who enjoys leading projects, solving complex technical challenges, and keeping facilities running safely and efficiently? We’re looking for a Junior Engineer to join our team and play a key role in delivering capital projects, supporting maintenance operations, and ensuring our facilities meet operational and safety standards.

In this role, you’ll manage a portfolio of projects, provide technical expertise to the business, and develop into a subject matter expert for engineering best practices, standards, and solutions. You will manage design and construction projects within the Infrastructure and Capital Programs and be exposed to working with consultants, contractors, and equipment suppliers.

• Lead safe execution of capital and maintenance projects.

• Plan, budget, and scope projects; validate business requests.

• Coordinate stakeholder alignment, approvals, and communication.

• Manage consultants, vendors, procurement, and site access.

• Oversee project schedules, progress, resources, and safety.

• Track project finances and complete documentation and closeout.

• Maintain facility and project records in SharePoint and internal systems.

• Provide technical expertise on design, engineering standards, and feasibility.

• Advise on codes, standards, best practices, and feasibility of technical solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Science, Applied Science, or equivalent.

• EIT designation with Engineers Nova Scotia is preferred .

• Strong ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful projects. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
