About the Job:
Reporting to the Community Development Manager, the Wellness Coordinator will be responsible for the ongoing research, development, and facilitation of programs that directly support the community. The individual will be responsible for promoting overall wellness and sustaining positive group work to maximize the wellbeing of clients, relationships with partners, and Company strengths.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, promote, and sustain community workshops, events, programs, and activities in collaboration with external partners
- Collect, analyze, and compile data on programming
- Coordinate projects (MOU’s, budgets, inventory of services, etc.)
- Promote wellness and self-management within Peel Youth Village and the community
- Develop new and exciting strategic partnerships
- Co-chair community outreach committee
- Train and support student and community volunteers
- Write grants to support activities and programming
- Partner with clients and their families as members of the health care team
- Perform additional duties as required/delegated by Management
Qualifications:

3+ years’ experience in project planning and/or working in the mental health field

Excellent proven relationships with the external partners

Post-Secondary education in Health Promotion, Community Development, or equivalent

Experience in working with seniors
-
Effective decision making skills and the ability to assess a comprehensive range of variables to be able to interpret analyze and solve problems

Leadership and a collaborative approach is critical to this position

Ability to advocate on behalf of clients and is comfortable with the self-help role
-
Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi service team
-
Excellent time management, communication, people management, etc.
-
Able to work with minimal direction or supervision
-
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
-
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft software (e.g. Excel, Word, etc.)

Must be certified in CPI, CPR and First Aid
-
A valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s license and a vehicle with adequate insurance coverage
Reporting Function:
The Wellness Coordinator will report directly to the Community Development Manager. They will work with both internal and external customers and will interact with all levels within the organization. They will be a support system, resource, and an advocator for the team and Company.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Day shift (Monday – Friday) with the ability to work excess/overtime hours were required
- Able to sit for prolonged periods of time
- Able to answer and communicate telephone calls and general computer use
- Able to lift up to 20lbs (product, documents, etc.)
- Vehicle travel to sites for visits/walk-throughs
