OVERVIEW: Are you passionate about driving meaningful change and shaping how projects come to life? Alberta Blue Cross is looking for a full-time Portfolio Analyst to join our evolving Enterprise Portfolio Management (EPMO) team. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to help shape our portfolio governance practices. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that values fresh ideas, continuous improvement, and strategic thinking.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: Reporting to the Manager, Portfolio Governance, you will play an important role in managing and triaging requests for enhancements and projects. You will:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the submission and review of requests.
  • Work with IT leadership, business sponsors, and their teams to clarify needs, risks and priorities.
  • Assess and triage requests, ensuring alignment with business goals and organizational priorities.
  • Review and support the development of business cases, offering guidance on effectively articulating business problems and opportunities, impacts, and implementation considerations.
  • Facilitate discussions that drive clarity and actionable outcomes.
  • Identify trends across requests and recommend approaches to address them.
  • Maintain clear documentation, tracking and reporting.
  • Continuously improve the request intake and triage process.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • A degree in information technology or related discipline.
  • 8 years’ experience working as a senior business or systems analyst, ideally within an EPMO.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint).
  • Experience working with project and / or service management processes and tools (e.g., MS Project, ServiceNow, Jira) would be an asset.
  • Exceptional planning, organizational, and communication abilities.
  • Strong facilitation and engagement skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Strong collaboration, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence working independently and building strong relationships across teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
