Position Description

In consultation with the Manager of Skills, Training, and Economic Development the incumbent will provide technical and logistical support to the mobile training trailers. Repairs and maintains the equipment, tools, and supplies inventory for the trailers. Assists with the creation and delivery of engagement experiences. Liaises with clients, vendors, faculty, staff, and students that will be involved in the engagement activity

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

A minimum of a Trades Certificate in Carpentry.

A minimum of 5 years of experience with tools and equipment in Carpentry with a strong understanding of construction practices.

Other Required Qualifications:

  • Valid class G driver’s license.
  • Scheduling, record keeping, communication, researching, and time management skills.
  • Able to track inventory and forecast/anticipate when supplies will need to be ordered/reordered.
  • Must have knowledge of Standard purchasing practice.
  • Good organizational and coordinating skills.
  • Knowledge of all equipment that is being checked.
  • Demonstrates correct procedures/ processes, techniques and equipment operation.

Physical/Work Environment Essential Requirements:

The successful incumbent must have the ability to report to the work location. Travel required to events within Eastern Ontario is required.

Incumbent will be required to lift up to 20 kg or 44 lbs on a weekly basis.
