About the role
Equipment Operators and Labourers are the foundation of our paving, base, and plant operations. The Seasonal Operator position requires equipment operation which may include operating compaction equipment, tractors, loaders, or skid steers (will train). The Operator is also responsible for performing a variety of tasks including shoveling, raking, cleaning, traffic control, safely lifting objects up to 50lbs, and various other hands-on tasks. We are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Our ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment. This position follows a 10 and 4 work schedule and requires regular overtime and travel and overnighting.
What is the role?
- Perform a variety of labour tasks including raking, shoveling, and cleaning as directed by the Site Supervisor
- From time to time, control traffic as directed by the Site Supervisor (will train)
- Operate equipment in a safe and effective manner as per OHS regulations
- Perform regular equipment/truck inspections and perform general maintenance
- Strict adherence to the company safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Manual
