Schedule: Full-Time | Rotating Shifts
Pay Band: $27.12 – $28.03/hour

About the Role
Are you passionate about supporting Indigenous communities and making a meaningful impact in healthcare? As a Residence Worker at Geaganano Residence, you’ll provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care to guests receiving treatment far from home. You’ll help create a safe, welcoming environment that meets the high standards of Hotel Dieu Hospital.
Your Cree language skills will be a valuable asset in offering interpretation and cultural support.
What You’ll Do
Guest Support
- Welcome guests arriving by charter, ground travel, or air ambulance.
- Provide comfortable accommodations and nutritious meals.
- Assist guests with orientation and ensure they’re prepared for appointments.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully, including in conversational Cree.
- Identify and report guest needs to IPS staff.
Housekeeping & Safety
- Maintain cleanliness in all common areas and guest rooms.
- Follow safe work practices and hospital standards.
- Handle laundry, garbage, and recycling.
- Ensure the residence is secure and guests are supervised respectfully.
Operations & Administration
- Keep daily logs and activity sheets up to date.
- Manage supply orders and assist with reception duties.
- Escort guests to the airport when needed.
- Complete hospital training modules and report concerns promptly.
What You Bring
Required:

College education or equivalent experience in a related field.

Background in guest services, housekeeping, or security.

Experience working in cross-cultural environments.

Conversational fluency in Mushkegowuk Cree dialects.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication and basic computer skills.

Physical ability to meet job demands, including shift work.
-
Clear criminal reference and vulnerable sector check.
Preferred:
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
This role requires physical stamina to meet the demands of shift work and housekeeping duties.
