Job Description – Who we are looking for to join the team
We are looking for a Full-Time Store Manager for our St. Thomas self-storage facility to join our team! This is a brand-new location, and the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the initial setup and launch of the facility. You will be the first point of contact for customers and will be responsible for customer service, administration, and facility and yard maintenance. You will report to the General Manager, Operations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills to help drive business growth. They should be comfortable working independently and taking initiative to inspect the facility and property to ensure the buildings, grounds, and customer areas are well maintained, secure, and properly monitored. You will also be responsible for maintaining the property and overseeing day-to-day business activities. Our St. Thomas storage facility offers traditional self-storage units and parking.
Responsibilities
Maintain and build positive customer service with clients, vendors, and service providers. Routinely inspect the entire facility for cleanliness, security breaches and maintenance requirements for the yard, infrastructure, and equipment. Seasonal landscaping includes managing contractors for snow removal, lawn and driveway maintenance. Answer the phones, emails, and customer enquiries in a professional and courteous manner. Managing the Customer Management System and keeping it accurate and updated. Ability to learn new systems and software for managing facilities like gates, security, and locks. Following up with clients as needed and directing them to the appropriate department if necessary. Be creative in supporting customers with their storage and moving solutions. Working with other departments, collaborating using MS Teams, Email and Phone. Taking payment from clients and following up on overdue accounts. Assisting with cleaning out lockers and helping with on-site access. Moving in and out schedules for storage units, as well as cleaning and maintaining units between clients. Looking for ways to engage with the community to promote and grow the business. Perform other duties as required by management.
Qualifications
Proficient with computers and systems, MS Office, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to learn new systems, tech-savvy considered an asset.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Outstanding customer Service, able to build rapport with business partners and clients. Problem solving abilities, looks for solutions. Proven ability to work independently and take the initiative. Property maintenance experience is considered an asset. Ability to multitask, organize and prioritize work requirements. Stays motivated and works well independently.
Optimistic attitude
Storage experience is considered an asset. A valid driver’s license and abstract will be requested.
Salary: $47,000 - $52,000 per year
