Detailed Overview

Performs a variety of tasks involving cleaning of pots and kitchen equipment in the Food and Nutritional Services Department. Responsibilities

Washes items such as pots, pans and utensils. Scours, cleans and polishes food service equipment and fixtures in acordance with established standards and procedures. Return clean pots and utensils to appropriate storage areas. Cleans and sanitizes garbage cans. Cleans work areas including counter tops, sinks, machines and equipment; spot washes walls and cleans splash areas, in accordance with established standards and procedures. Assists with the set up and service of special functions as required. Puts away orders received from Central Stores. Pressure washes resident tray carts. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Grade 10 plus one (1) year's recent, related experience of an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Current Food Safe I certificate.

Skills and Abilities

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to deal effectively with others. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work. Ability to operate related equipment. Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
