Job Description:
Under the direction of the Events Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the planning, organization, promotion, and implementation of College Orientation for the September, January, and May intakes. In addition to Orientation, the incumbent plays a key role in developing, coordinating, and implementing year-round student engagement initiatives focused on health and wellness, academic success and connection to the college. These may include speaker series, wellness workshops, and programming that enrich the student experience and supports student retention. The incumbent also assists with corporate events such as town halls, employee engagement events, and college-wide initiatives. The incumbent will support convocation as well as Experiential Learning and Entrepreneurship events.
The incumbent will actively seek out feedback following each programmed event and continuously research the evolving interests and needs of Algonquin College students. They will analyze collected data, maintain accurate records and prepare comprehensive event reports detailing the evaluation and assessment of all respective events (including College Orientation).
The incumbent is expected to be well versed in Zoom and Microsoft Teams and other event apps/platforms for event execution/delivery. This job requires the incumbent to be comfortable and well versed technically.
The incumbent may be required to work evenings and weekends.
A valid G license is required.
Required Qualifications:

Minimum two (2)-year diploma or equivalent in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Event Management. Equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience may be accepted in place of required education.

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in planning and implementing events, including the assessing and evaluating of all relevant statics;

Progressive experience in client-focused, post-secondary environments is an asset.

Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.

A Valid Drivers’ License is required and access to vehicle
