The Claims Administrator is responsible for managing all aspects of Workplace Injury and disability claims across CRH Canada operations. This role ensures timely and accurate reporting, supports employees through health-related absences, recovery, and return-to-work processes, and maintains compliance with provincial legislation and internal policies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, empathetic, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer WSIB, CNESST, short-term, and long-term disability claims from initiation to resolution, ensuring timely submission and follow-up.
  • Liaise with employees, supervisors, WSIB representatives, insurers, and healthcare providers to facilitate claim processing, recovery, and return-to-work.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in accordance with CRH Canada standards, WSIB/CNESST requirements, and privacy legislation.
  • Act as a key contact for WSIB and CNESST audits, appeals, and case reviews.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees throughout their recovery, leave, and return-to-work journey.
  • Collaborate with HR, Health & Safety, and operational teams to develop and implement modified work and accommodation programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with WSIB legislation, Ontario disability legislation, Employment Standards Act (ESA), Human Rights Code, CRH Canada policies, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Prepare and analyse reports on claim trends, costs, activity, and performance metrics to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in joint health and safety committee and case management meetings, contributing to injury prevention and disability management strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance employee experience.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English/French).
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Occupational Health, Health Sciences, or a related field.
  • Certification in Disability Management, Occupational Health, or WSIB-related training.
  • Experience in a unionised and/or industrial environment.
  • 2–5 years of experience managing WSIB claims, disability claims administration, or similar workplace injury programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario WSIB and disability legislation, return-to-work best practices, and workplace accommodation.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and claims management systems.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
