Director of Finance
About the role
Calgary client is seeking a highly skilled Director of Finance to lead and strengthen the financial operations of the business. This role will provide day-to-day leadership to the Finance department, ensuring strong strategic alignment, financial compliance, and operational excellence. The Director of Finance will partner closely with cross-functional leaders and report directly to the VP of Finance.
Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To
- Lead all core financial operations, including accounting, reporting, treasury, compliance, and tax
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and performance analysis to support decision-making
- Deliver timely, accurate financial and operational insights to leadership
- Own internal controls, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance
- Build and develop a high-performing finance team; drive system, process, and tool improvements (e.g., NetSuite)
- Manage key vendor and partner relationships and support strategic initiatives, including M&A and financing
Your strengths include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA strongly preferred
- 7+ years of progressive finance experience, including senior leadership
- Strong audit, compliance, and internal controls expertise
- Prior SaaS experience considered an asset
- Proven people leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Highly analytical with strong business insight and data storytelling abilities
- Hands-on experience with financial systems and a process-driven mindset
