Company Overview We are working with a Government of Alberta (GoA) client at the forefront of digital modernization. Through its Digital Design and Delivery ("3D") division, the organization focuses on maximizing capacity, innovation, and trust in modern digital practices, utilizing human-centered design approaches, Agile methodologies, and modern data practices to better serve citizens.
Job Summary As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will join cross-functional product delivery or program review teams. You will be a key member participating in the full development lifecycle: from field research and backlog definition to sprint execution and solution deployment. You will work on digital transformation projects aimed at making public services more efficient, effective, and affordable.
Responsibilities: Research and Design: Participate in user interviews, lead technical discovery, and create detailed solution designs. Solution Development: Complete critical functionalities for exemplary projects, resolving defects, and improving code quality, tools, and documentation. Technical Collaboration: Work alongside frontend designers to ensure a consistent user experience and advise product owners on implementation options. Sustainability: Contribute to a user-centered service platform, reusing common components and supporting the onboarding of new team members.
What We Are Looking For: Experience Requirement: 5+ years as a Full Stack Developer in Agile environments and 5+ years using version control (Git). Technical Skills: 3+ years of experience in modern frontend frameworks, relational databases, and unit/integration testing. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (equivalencies considered). Collaboration: Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams. Innovation Mindset: Preferably with experience in legacy system transformation and the use of AI tools for automation and productivity.
What We Offer: Work Arrangement: Mostly remote work (with availability for in-person meetings in Edmonton). Impact: Opportunity to work on 2 to 3 high-impact concurrent projects for the public sector. Growth: Initial 1-year contract with the possibility of extension for up to 24 additional months.
