We’re Hiring!

We are currently looking to fill a full-time, permanent position for a Quality Assurance Administrator in our Quality Assurance Department at our Leamington, Ontario facility.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for analyzing the shelf life of various products and their packaging types and incorporating these into a database to analyze and recognize trends and opportunities.
    • Complete data collection & entry.
    • Data comparison & analysis.
    • Prepare reports and presentations to professionally relay results to senior management teams.
  • Be on the leading edge and aware of products that could be of value to the extension of the shelf life of fresh produce. Requesting samples and testing as opportunities become available to reduce waste.
  • Conducting strawberry testing and other duties with the strawberry program.
  • Special testing or investigation to help determine the root cause of a failure within the Sales DC.
  • Monitoring weekly KPI’s and inventory in QC area and QC Testing area.
  • Sample requests require dry goods to be pulled from inventory, align with production/farms to set up tools to support sample product being run. Packing samples according to specifications.
  • Monitoring Sample Request form, sample calendar, and sample KPI.
  • Communication with all departments pertaining to samples.
  • Monitoring and updating Compliance Canada for requests on any packaging changes, new product launches, updates, etc.
  • Creation/Development of item/product by assigning them UPC, GTIN, item numbers, etc.
  • Updating and maintaining label files and spec sheets. Prints labels for samples.
  • Setting up orders in NAV, corrective actions with suppliers, change alert process meetings.
  • Prepare documentation, reports, and results based on the process of the test plan, mapping out the failures, stability, and corrective actions in the production process.
  • Perform problem-solving solutions to develop corrective actions for quality issues and to initiate continuous improvement.
  • LPA Audits as assigned.
  • Maintaining customer portals for rejections in reducing rejection KPI’s.
  • Aligning/Maintaining accuracy and details to customer specifications with specification sheets.
  • Visits to farms and vendors to deep dive corrective actions, to read across for implementation of corrective actions, and complete audits to meet NFF specifications.
  • Work collaboratively under the guidance of the supervisor, following instructions to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Comply with all Health and Safety, Food Safety, Bio Security, and Nature Fresh Policies and Procedures.

What You Bring:

  • 1 year product development coordination and Quality Control/ Assurance experience is required.
  • Previous experience working in produce or food manufacturing industry are definite assets.
  • Ability to identify issues and problem solve using appropriate resources internally and externally.
  • Proficiency in working with computers and software programs, such as Microsoft Office, more specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication abilities, active listening skills and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain respectful and professional relationships at all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment, some independent work.
  • Ability to work in a fast environment by multitasking and prioritizing work while being attentive to details and quality.
  • Must be forward thinking to be proactive to support the QA team.
  • Ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with the team and all other departments to maintain a positive and efficient work environment.
  • Ability to embrace and adapt to the rapid growth, innovation, and development of the company.
  • Available to work full time hours Monday to Friday, including holidays and Saturdays as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and use of personal vehicle are required.
  • Valid passport and ability/willingness to cross US/Canada borders if needed.

What To Expect:

  • A mixture between Warehouse and office settings.
  • Fast paced warehouse environment where temperatures vary from cooler temperature-controlled areas to hot and humid climates at the farms.
  • Working with a wide array of people/cultures in a team setting.
  • There may be an occasional need for some heavy lifting (when needed).
  • A balance between walking, sitting, and standing throughout the day.
  • Must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
