As an Intern, Projects Administrator, you will support the Refrigeration team with technical requests. Working primarily within Black & McDonald's existing client base in the Greater Hamilton area, you will also support customers, managers, and employees through a variety of tasks related to business development, projects, and overall customer satisfaction.
General duties & responsibilities may include:
- Prepare prequalification submissions
- Monitor procurement databases and distribute relevant bid opportunities to the project estimating team
- Support Refrigeration Team as needed, including:
- Distribution of purchase orders to vendors upon Project Manager direction
- Document control of RFI's, Transmittals, Change Orders, shop drawings, schedules, etc.
- Preparation of project documentation, warranty letters, project closeout manuals, etc.
- Complete project marketing profiles upon project completion
- Support operations & account management
- Help collect information & investigate as required to support client reviews and account management
- Setup, populate, and maintain Team SharePoint
- Facilitate client orientations, contractor acknowledgements, GMPs, security checks, etc. – manage and file related documentation
- Take & record meeting minutes (e.g. continuous improvement)
- Complete billing for completed projects
- Participate in periodic formal training and orientations
- Other duties as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Southwest Ontario – Oakville (Halton) up to Orangeville, East of Woodstock, South to Niagara/Fort Erie
- Driving in this region to get to/from relevant sites
- Office – desk/computer, meeting rooms, back shop, sea containers
- Home – remote working, computer
- Client sites – mechanical rooms, process areas, roofs, warehouses, office spaces, classrooms, meeting halls, etc.
- Supplier facilities – parts, material pick-ups, warehouses, shops
REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS
-A great attitude and enthusiasm for learning
- Available from May - August 2026
- Completed or pursuing a degree or diploma in project management, C.E.T., B. Eng. or related field
- Strong academic record with a passion for your field of study
- Previous work or volunteer experience highlighting your attitude, collaboration, and enthusiasm to continually grow
- Valid Ontario G class driver's license with clean driving abstract.
Expected compensation for this role is a starting pay range between $20-$22/hour dependent on education level, skills and experience.
