Ornge is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated IT Architect Co-op Student to join our IT Applications & Architecture team. In this hands-on role, you'll gain valuable experience supporting application portfolio management, quality assurance initiatives, application security processes, and enterprise architecture activities within a Microsoft-focused technology environment. Working alongside architects, developers, application owners, and business stakeholders, you'll contribute to meaningful projects that help improve the reliability, security, and governance of critical business applications. This is an exciting opportunity to develop practical skills in application lifecycle management, software testing, security practices, technical documentation, and cross-functional collaboration while gaining exposure to Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, Power Platform, enterprise applications, application security tools, and enterprise architecture practices.

Key Accountabilities

Assist with enterprise architecture activities including application portfolio analysis, technology lifecycle management, architecture documentation, and governance processes. Assist in maintaining application portfolio records and technology lifecycle information within the enterprise architecture repository. Collaborate directly with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements, application details, and support information. Support quality assurance activities by maintaining test cases, reviewing test assets, and tracking defects. Assist with application security testing, secure development practices, vulnerability management activities, and the onboarding of development teams to security tools and processes. Create and maintain technical documentation, process guides, standard operating procedures, and project records. Contribute to process improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects supporting application governance and SDLC best practices.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program with a focus on Information and Technology, Computer Science, or related field of study. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Highly motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team. Interest or coursework in enterprise architecture, software development, quality assurance, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, or business systems analysis is considered an asset. Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations. Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills to identify solutions and overcome challenges effectively. Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
