Reporting to: VP Finance and CFO
Location: Calgary, McTavish Office
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week
The big picture:

As the Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting, you are responsible for managing the preparation and distribution of the periodic financial reporting for both internal and external use. You will ensure that reporting, filings and documentation complies with the company’s regulations, professional standards and GAAP reporting requirements.

In this role you will:
- Prepare timely and accurate internal and external financial statements and assist with the preparation of ongoing Board materials
- Collaborate with departments to ensure financial information provided fully reflects AirSprint’s business operations
- Manage the annual external audit process and the provision of information to external auditors
- Document, maintain, and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting
- Recommend, draft, and implement accounting policies
- Review, document, and improve efficiencies of reporting processes and procedures
- Assist with the development of financial models, prepare forecasts and reporting tools to identify business opportunities, risk and performance enhancements
- Coordinate with senior management and prepare forecasts and budgets to meet business goals
- Evaluate profitability and operating results of departments to identify actions to improve overall business results
- Assist with the implementation of software changes
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, with a CPA designation.
- At least four (4) years of progressively more responsible related experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge and strong experience with the understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, internal controls, accounting policies and procedures.
- Excellent analytical, organization and modelling skills, in-depth experience with financial statement analysis and a solid understanding of corporate finance concepts such as discounted cash flow and valuation methodologies.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products, and superior Excel skills, including financial modelling and pivot tables.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience in a public accounting firm is preferred.
- Experience with financial and reporting systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365)
- Experience in the aviation industry
