Bookkeeper
Our client in the broader public sector is seeking a skilled Bookkeeper for a short-term assignment.
This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. In this role, you will manage accounts payable and receivable, complete bank and account reconciliations, prepare journal entries, and maintain the general ledger. You will support month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to established financial policies and timelines.
You will also assist with financial reporting, respond to internal and external inquiries, support audits and reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and documentation.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience , or equivalent education and practical knowledge
- Strong technical skills, including MS Excel and experience with accounting systems such as Great Plains (or similar ERP systems)
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills , with the ability to manage multiple priorities
