Team Lead Creating oversees daily shipping operations, including packaging gear, picking and packing line-side items from sales orders, and ensuring timely and accurate shipments
Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as a knowledge source for the Material Handling role and is able to perform the duties of a Material handler at all levels. Use a Forklift (electric or propane) , tugger, overhead crane, and other equipment to deliver materials both inside and outside of the manufacturing facility. Review job orders and internal requests to determine the appropriate location and drop-off procedure.
- Act as a knowledge source for the Packer role and is able to perform the duties of a Packer at all levels. Draws and orders custom, oversized, and complex packing crates/boxes for jobs through the MOM app. Construct packaging crates designed to package S&C products for external delivery by using power saws, drills, nail guns, and other hand tools.
- Review documentation for orders, shipments, and other processes to ensure accuracy and completion. Reports errors to the appropriate department when needed.
- Act as a knowledge source for the department in the ERP system, assisting team members in resolving basic issues and providing guidance on how to perform non-typical transactions in the system.
- Coach and mentor all production team members in the department, supporting the completion of their work to help their professional growth. Supports leadership by directing activities when leaders are absent and assisting team members with job-related issues.
- Complete forklift safety inspections when assigned and monitor the safety inspections of other team members, helping them to follow proper procedures.
- Support LPS problem-solving activities by acting as a key contributor in LPS meetings and assisting members of their team in fulfilling the recommendations resulting from LPS activities.
- Meet department targets and consistently adhere to quality and safety standards.
- Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
- Recognize and adhere to S&C and industry safety practices and champion safe working practices.

Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in a material handling or related role within a manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years of driving a forklift with a safe driving record.
- Ability to operate both an electric and propane-powered forklift for indoor and outdoor use.
- Good attention to detail, with the ability to determine accurate order quantities consistently, enter information correctly in the ERP system, and review order-related documentation.
- Possess some knowledge of electrical products/components and the manufacturing process used to create them.
- Ability to work independently and meet the requirements of assigned materials requests.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate information efficiently and effectively to team members in a variety of production support departments.
- Good computer skills with the ability to review and respond to requests via internal applications. Able to utilize ERP software to complete a variety of material handling, RMA, and receiving functions.
- Possess a basic understanding of how to read blueprints and job orders.
- Basic math skills with the ability to calculate quantities and weights.
- Basic leadership skills with the ability to guide, train, coach, and mentor junior team members.
- Good interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work successfully and work with team members from a variety of teams to flag issues and solve problems.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments such as scales and callipers.
- Ability and willingness to follow Health Safety & Environment procedures accurately, reporting concerns promptly to the safety action team.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement manufacturing principles
- Previous experience working with Oracle ERP.
