About the job:

The Medical Lead is responsible for providing medical and scientific leadership across a portfolio of healthcare products, ensuring they are developed, positioned, and managed in a safe, compliant, and scientifically sound way. It involves identifying healthcare trends and innovation opportunities, supporting product development and lifecycle management, and translating global medical strategies into effective local execution. The position oversees medical accuracy and regulatory compliance for both promotional and non-promotional materials while proactively identifying and mitigating product safety risks. It also plays a key role in product launches, differentiated positioning, and the development of local medical brand plans that support global and Canadian priorities. Strong cross-functional and external collaboration is essential to advance scientific ecosystems and improve consumer health outcomes. Throughout all activities, the role upholds the highest ethical standards and provides backup medical information support when needed.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop insights / anticipate health care trends; identify and execute on science-driven innovation opportunities (claim enhancement, product development, life cycle management, medical evaluation of Business Development opportunities, local switch opportunities); and obtain scientific endorsement & effectively manage stakeholders
  • Pro-actively identify and manage product safety concerns and co-create and execute risk mitigating strategies
  • Review and approve promotional and non-promotional materials for medical accuracy and compliance with applicable guidelines and regulations
  • Develop and implement, as needed, relevant Local Strategic Medical Brand Plans, which outline the support strategy for Global brands within Canada or the support for key local Canadian brands
  • Be responsible and accountable for the medical and scientific stewardship of the product portfolios, which include pharmacologic and relevant non-pharmacologic products
  • Enhance effective consumer self-management by promoting data-driven, innovative consumer-oriented healthcare solutions and leveraging digital capabilities
  • Provide strategic medical support to ensure product launch excellence, differentiated product positioning and innovative life-cycle management
  • Effectively collaborate internally and externally to evolve scientific ecosystems that lead to improved consumer health outcomes
  • Translate global medical and scientific strategies into local medical commitments and deliverables
  • Understand treatment paradigms in both formal healthcare and self-care the promote effective healthcare professional interactions with consumers
  • Operate with high ethical standard and integrity in compliance with all company, regulatory and international medical standards at all times
  • Act as Medical Information back up

About You:

EDUCATION

M.D., Pharm.D., PhD or equivalent healthcare degree

EXPERIENCE

Up to 5 years of experience in Consumer Healthcare, pharmaceutical industry, or pharmacy practice

SPECIFIC SKILLS AND/OR COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge and understanding of clinical drug development, pharmacovigilance, risk benefit assessment, Canadian regulatory framework for pharmacological products and promotional product claims.
  • Highly organized, rigorous work ethic
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and be self-directed

  • Knowledge of data sharing platform such as TEAMS or SharePoint

The salary range for this position is:

100,000.00 - 135,000.00 CAD Annual
